Hafiswa is a widow from Mawugulu Village who lost her husband in a motorcycle accident and later lost her 1 year old baby due to malnutrition. She now lives with her 3 year old son, Abdullah. During the 5 February 2026 home visit, FLCF identified grief, depression, and household instability as major concerns affecting both mother and child wellbeing.

Hafiswa’s household is managing compounded loss and stress. The emotional burden has been accompanied by reduced household stability and difficulty meeting consistent food needs. Abdullah is 3 years old and requires support for nutrition and early childhood development, including readiness for schooling.

The team noted Hafiswa’s need for counselling and consistent follow up, alongside practical support to stabilise the household and protect the child’s wellbeing.
