About Cissy

Cissy, a stay-at-home mother of three, survives by selling groceries in her community. Although determined to provide for her children, she lacked the capital needed to expand her business and sustain school fees. During an assessment in 2025, FLCF identified her challenges and began offering support. Since December 2024, the Foundation has helped her stabilize her children’s education and continues exploring sustainable livelihood options for her. Cissy’s journey reflects how empowering mothers with capital and encouragement directly impacts children’s wellbeing.

Beneficiary Additional Details

Cissy’s small grocery stall is her main source of livelihood, yet the profits have always been too modest to meet her children’s needs. She works tirelessly from morning until evening, often sitting by the roadside with her produce, hoping for buyers. Despite her commitment, the lack of working capital limited her ability to stock enough goods, making it difficult to keep up with school fees and other essentials. This situation left her family living on the edge, with her children’s education constantly threatened.

FLCF’s involvement has provided her with much-needed relief. Since December 2024, the Foundation has supported her children’s school attendance and has been exploring ways to strengthen her small business through capital support. By addressing her immediate needs while helping her build economic resilience, Cissy is beginning to see a pathway toward sustainability. She embodies the Foundation’s mission of empowering families through both direct aid and long-term empowerment strategies.
