About Albert

Albert is a 1 year old boy identified with severe acute malnutrition during the FLCF home visit on 5 February 2026. He was reportedly abandoned by his parents after being born prematurely at 7 months and is currently under the care of his grandmother. The team found urgent health and nutrition risks and initiated immediate referral for medical attention and follow up support.

Beneficiary Additional Details

During the home assessment, Albert presented visible signs consistent with severe acute malnutrition, including muscle wasting and brown, scanty hair. The team recorded a MUAC of 10 cm (red zone), indicating a high risk condition requiring urgent intervention. He lives with his grandmother (Nanono Hindu) in a grass thatched mud house. The caregiver depends on peasant farming and also lives with hypertension, which affects her capacity to consistently meet Albert’s nutrition and healthcare needs.

The team also noted missed immunisation follow ups, with Albert reportedly last immunised at 14 weeks. This increases his vulnerability to preventable childhood illnesses and requires immediate catch up and monitoring.
