On 12 June 2026, Francis Lubega Children’s Foundation visited Gloria at Zana Mixed Secondary School as part of its continued education support programme. During the visit, the foundation paid its agreed contribution towards her school fees and provided scholastic materials to support her learning. Foundation representatives also used the visit to monitor Gloria’s academic progress and general wellbeing at school. The engagement provided an opportunity to confirm that the education support was being applied as intended and to identify any areas requiring further assistance. The visit formed part of FLCF’s continuing commitment to helping Gloria remain in secondary school and progress towards her educational and career goals.
Gloria Kayaka comes from a vulnerable family and was identified by Francis Lubega Children’s Foundation during a visit to Nanziga Primary School. Foundation staff recognised her academic potential and committed to helping her continue her education despite the financial challenges facing her family.
After completing her Primary Leaving Examinations with a First Grade, Gloria joined Zana Mixed Secondary School. Since First Term 2026, the foundation has supported her education by paying half of her school fees and providing scholastic materials required for her studies.
Gloria is described as disciplined, hardworking and committed to her education. She continues to perform well despite experiencing occasional eye problems and hopes to pursue a career in nursing. FLCF continues to monitor her academic progress and provide support intended to help her remain in school and work towards her long-term goals.
Impact Notes
The school-fee contribution and scholastic materials reduced the financial burden on Gloria’s family and supported her continued attendance at secondary school. Regular school visits also allow the foundation to monitor her academic progress and respond to emerging educational or welfare needs.
