Community Business and Skilling Needs Assessment
Date: 2026-09-30
Francis Lubega Children’s Foundation conducted an interactive business and skilling needs assessment with parents in Mawugulu Village to understand existing livelihood activities, identify priority training interests and guide future economic empowerment support.
Location: Mawugulu Village yrs
Participants also identified areas in which they would like further training and support. These included bakery, improved poultry keeping, tailoring, hairdressing, vegetable farming and marketing skills. The foundation recorded the identified needs and completed the rapid skill training assessment tool to support follow-up and future programme planning. The Chairperson of Mawugulu Village and the CDO also participated in the activity, strengthening local involvement in the assessment process. Their participation helped connect community priorities with local leadership and provided a stronger basis for planning future livelihood and skilling initiatives.
On 30 September 2026, Francis Lubega Children’s Foundation engaged parents and community members in Mawugulu Village through interactive discussions and a training needs assessment. The exercise reviewed how families currently earn a living and documented existing activities including small-scale farming, piggery, goat grazing, poultry keeping and cultivation of local crops.
Impact Notes
The assessment provided FLCF with practical information on current household livelihoods and the skills that community members consider most useful for improving their income opportunities. The findings can now guide future training programmes, partnerships and livelihood-support activities based on needs identified directly by the community.
