About Sylvia
Sylvia, the grandmother of Ann and Aron, has been their primary guardian. In 2025, FLCF’s team learned that the family was struggling with food insecurity, lack of school fees, and inadequate bedding. Since December 2024, FLCF has ensured that Ann and Aron stay in school while addressing the family’s most urgent household needs. Sylvia’s story is a testament to the vital role grandmothers play in raising the next generation and the positive change that comes when communities extend a helping hand.
Beneficiary Additional Details
Sylvia has long carried the weight of responsibility for her grandchildren, Ann and Aron. Living in Maya, she juggles limited resources to feed and care for them, often going without herself to ensure the children have something to eat. Their most pressing challenges included hunger, constant risk of school dropout, and a lack of proper bedding, which meant restless nights and weakened health. Despite these struggles, Sylvia is deeply committed to raising her grandchildren with love and hope.
Since December 2024, FLCF has lightened her burden by stepping in with support for food, bedding, and educational expenses. The children are now consistently in school, while Sylvia enjoys greater peace of mind. Beyond meeting physical needs, the Foundation affirms Sylvia’s role as a guardian, recognizing her resilience and sacrifices. With this support, Ann and Aron’s futures look brighter, and Sylvia can look forward with renewed strength, knowing her family is not forgotten.
