The Francis Lubega Children Foundation stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the late Francis Lubega. The Legacy of Francis Lubega Francis Lubega, affectionately known as “Mzee Katayira,” was born on August 12, 1952, to Baziliyo Ziritwawulamu and Nakuya Filomera. He was a trailblazer in Uganda’s motor vehicle industry, becoming one of the first to make car ownership accessible at a time when importing vehicles was nearly impossible for many. Starting his business with just two cars and a modest sum, he grew into a respected tycoon who transformed the lives of countless Ugandans by offering them the opportunity to own vehicles and improve their livelihoods. Known for his honesty, hard work, and unwavering commitment to service, Francis Lubega was more than an entrepreneur—he was a man of the people. Throughout his life, Francis embodied compassion and generosity. He paid school fees for orphans, fed the hungry, and provided mentorship to countless individuals. He respected everyone, regardless of their background, and lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and humility. His ability to inspire hope and foster change earned him admiration and love from all who knew him. A devout family man, he balanced his dedication to his work with a deep commitment to his family.
